To easy!
Last months
Star Group trial was one of the best trials I've ever
ridden and it was held here at Bagshot Heath. The COC
then, done himself proud on all of the routes, which
unfortunately was not the case for this trial. In all
of my three and a bit years as a trials riding I've
never lost three marks total in a trial and i've never
heard a mature (old) novice rider saying "can I
ride the expert route on a section because novice route
is to easy". I never seek to criticize those hard
working individuals who behind the scene of each trial
work hard to give us a day of enjoyment. Its hard for
the COC to get the balance right for each route, if
the trials to hard people complain, if its to easy then
we get bored. What
would i do? The answer is quite simple each route needs
to be ridden by someone experience on that route.
I did complete
the trial with some very competitive intermediate riders
which made the day for me. On most sections I was the
first rider through and you could sense these riders
were wishing me a five, off cause i was do the same
to them and added the occasional yeeeharr to put them
off. Section 3, after it had been altered for laps three
and four was the only section that even got close to
taking a mark off me. Whilst queuing for this section
I think the complete field of intermediates were present
and eagerly wishing me a bad ride so made sure I cleaned
it. The pressure on me to clean this section was brilliant
and seeing me clean it must have really put the pressure
on them see as we were all on single figure scores.
I often go the wrong way in a section and their wishing
came true because I lost two marks on section six, one
for nearly going the wrong way and the other for waiting
so long to get on to the section i rode it way to fast
and made a silly mistake.
March is
the start of the North Kent Combine series so you Star
Group inters think yourselves lucky I decided I won't
be contesting intermediate trophy. Not that you guys
would be any contest for me because I know I can whoop
all your sorry ass's any day.
A big thank
you to all the marshal's, officials and who ever owns
the land.
