Round four of the NKTC championship gave the unexpected and brilliant winner of Rob Fleet
at Intermediate level - well done Rob I didn't think you had it in yu mate. Well done to
all Bexleyheath riders for walking over the NKTC competition and our club riders take the
highest scoring tally for best Novices and Intermediates. 'our club is the best'. Bexleyheath
will have a premier class rider, riding the full-blooded Expert route soon and when we do our
club will be whooping arse in every class.
I write mainly about the Intermediate class because that's the class I compete in, I do watch other
classes but pay special attention to the Experts "I'm sure I could have won this class on
the day". If you're a better rider than me I will aim to beat you, remember I can
only improve and move on where as top Inter's and Expert's have no higher achievement than
increased course difficulty. Edward my old adversary and the tech website expert for MBT
(motorbiketrials.com) is currently studying for his A levels, 'good luck mate'. "Ed, don't
spend to long a time away from the trial's scene because I enjoy riding against you and winning,
well maybe on one of my better days…
The trial on Sunday was easy, my inability to win was due to the flu, it zapped all my
energy and I was so de-highdrated I nearly gave up after one lap but then I'm a Bexleyheath
rider and as tough as nails. KYTC trials have always been renowned as difficult trials and the
trial on Sunday broke that myth, below are a few sections that gave me minor problems.
Section 4:
The section commenced with you riding over half a dozen logs placed about a foot and a half
apart from each other, these logs were very easy to ride across and should have been stacked
one on top of each other, why they weren't I will never know - after this came the interesting
part of the section and for the life of me I couldn't clean it - around the back of a tree I went and then
turning sharp left the problem came apparent I was to tight to the tree to make the sharp right,
It really p-----d me off because I couldn't figure out how to clean this section until Rob Fleet
said that the only way to do it was to swing out even further left and this would
just leave you enough space to jump the bike right and out of the section. Unfortunately I was told
this at the end of the day, but thanks Rob for the advise.
Section 14:
The entry to this section was the hardest part and most of the riders I saw elected to put
a foot down and pivot the bike around to the left, this was the only difficult part to the
section and again I couldn't clean it. I think I need some lessons in hopping the bike around
but then again it seems too much effort for very little reward.
A big thank you to the landowner and marshals for all your help and involvement on the day.
Cheers.
